Welcome to MATA’s web site. This is your on-line resource for the Memphis Area Transit Authority. As the largest transit operator in the state of Tennessee, we are fully committed to providing top customer service in every aspect of our operation from trolleys to regular fixed route service. Our web site is designed to provide more in-depth information on MATA and its services.
Each weekday, we proudly transport nearly 40,000 riders throughout Memphis and the surrounding areas on 244 transit vehicles including paratransit vans, vintage rail trolleys and conventional accessible buses. We serve four (4) cities in Shelby County and West Memphis in Arkansas. Our authentic vintage trolleys offer a nostalgic trip to some of downtown's most notable attractions and a breathtaking view of the mighty Mississippi River along the magnificent Riverfront.
