JOIN THE NEW MATA CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MCAC)
In partnership with Mayor Paul Young’s office, the Memphis Area Transit Authority is working to expand community engagement as part of our ongoing transformation of our city’s public transportation system.
The MATA Board provides legal authority over MATA. Still, we are now adding a MATA Citizens Advisory Committee (MCAC) that will serve in an advisory capacity to MATA and the MATA Board.
MCAC will consist of no more than eleven representatives: seven from the Memphis community (in alignment with the seven Memphis City Council single districts), two from Germantown/Collierville/Bartlett, and two MATA employees. MCAC is a voluntary committee of riders, transit employees and community advocates that work in partnership with MATA. MCAC reviews transit system planning, operations and programs from the community perspective and makes recommendations to MATA leadership.
Applications for participants are currently being accepted.
Interviews will be conducted in April.
